Ms. Shobna Chandran – Managing Director, Shobna Chandra n LLC
Upon graduation with a close to perfect academic r ecord, Shobna was a Justices Law Clerk to the Chief Justice and the Court o f Appeal bench until 2008. Shobna has worked with at least 3 Senior Counsel over her 15-year career. She thrives in appellate advocacy and high stakes cross border commercial disputes. Shobna has successfully argued cases and won all the way up to the Court of Appeal against Senior Counsel. Notably, she has acted as lead counsel on more than 6 appeal matters in the span of the last 2 years. On the arbitration front, Shobna has spent her entire ca reer doing international arbitration, having handled arbitration matters in excess of billion dollars. She is currently a fellow of the Singapore Inst itute of Arbitrators. Her cases range from telecommunications to pharmaceut ical industry to solar/renewable energy, shareholder disputes and banking a nd finance related disputes. The jurisdictions involve include Malaysia, In donesia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, India, USA and Africa. | Prof. Chen Siyuan - Assoc Professor of Law, SMU; A ssoc Dean (Students and Alumni); Director of Moots Chen Siyuan is one of the associate deans at the SMU Yong Pung How School of Law. A graduate of NUS and Harvard, he special ises in evidence and procedure, having produced more than a hundred publica tions on those areas including in journals such as the Civil Justice Quarte rly and International Journal of Evidence & Proof. His works, especiall y his books on evidence and procedure, have been cited by the Singapore and Indian courts, as well as the UK Law Commission. Siyuan has also been a Pr ofessorial Fellow at the AGC since 2018 and directs the international moots programme at SMU, which has seen SMU mooters feature regularly in the worl d championship rounds of major competitions such as the Jessup and Vis. |

 | Mr. Gregory Vijayendran SC – Vice President, Asia Pacific Institute of Experts; Partner, Dispute Resolu tion, Rajah & Tan LLP Gregory’s present practice encompasses a specialization in banking and c orporate insolvency as well as litigation, arbitration and mediation of com mercial disputes and chancery matters. He is also a recognised expert in ch arities governance and has given expert witness testimony for overseas cour t proceedings. Gregory graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1992, was admitted to the Singapore Bar in 1993 and joined Rajah & T ann LLP after being in practice in two other leading law firms for 15 years (jointly heading the Banking and Insolvency Litigation Practice group of a nother leading law firm). Gregory was appointed Senior Counsel in 2019. Gre gory was the longest serving President of the Law Society from 2017-2021. H e has also been appointed as a Fellow of the Insolvency Practitioners Assoc iation of Singapore, the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators and the Singapo re Institute of Directors. |
